WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO WORK AT BK?
I chose to come to BK because I believed in the vision of the boys hockey staff to be the best hockey academy in the country. I wanted to work with the best players in the country at the midget level and help move them forward in their careers.
WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU?
In high school I received five varsity letters in five different sports: Hockey, football, baseball, lacrosse and golf. After I retired from playing hockey, I moved to New York City where I worked in commercial real estate for Dumann Realty and Williamson, Pickett and Gross. I moved back to Boston where I opened a physical therapy practice named Exercise Rx. I attended Cincinnati Sports Medicine where I became certified in ACL injury prevention for female athletes. I eventually sold my company to pursue my dream of coaching and developing hockey players.
My uncle Bob was an All-American hockey player at Harvard University (’73) and a Beanpot Hall of Famer; he played in the NHL for the Hartford Whalers and Pittsburgh Penguins. My dad George McManama got his M.D. at Harvard (’71) and played hockey, too. My sister Kim played at Harvard (’00), where she was captain of the women’s team and won a national championship. My cousin Wendy Crabtree was a tennis All-American at Notre Dame (’96).
